Patrick McAliskey announced as chairperson of social prescribing tech company, Elemental Software
Elemental Software, the UK and Ireland’s leading provider of social prescribing technology, has today announced the appointment of Patrick McAliskey as Non-Executive Chairperson.
Patrick, who co-founded IT infrastructure and managed services provider Novosco, brings a wealth of experience and global connections to the Northern Ireland-based company at a time of exciting growth and expansion.

Elemental has seen a 66% increase in overall revenue in the past year and now provides social prescribing consultancy services and technology that powers over 500 community health and wellness hubs across the UK and Ireland. The company’s markets cover local authorities, clinical commissioning groups, GP federations, voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, housing associations, and more recently prisons and education.
Indeed, more than 50% of London boroughs use Elemental to make, manage, and measure the impact of social prescribing. The company is also the preferred digital social prescribing provider for Greater Manchester, having been appointed by Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership in March.
Elemental’s team has grown by 61% in the last year to 32 employees, (8 of which were recruited during COVID); and the Derry-Londonderry based tech for good business has plans to create a further 10 jobs in the city.

Elemental has already won a host of awards, including the Digital Leaders 100 Health-Tech Innovation Award and Overall Digital Leaders 2020 Award. It has also won the Tech4Good Digital Health 2020 Award, and the Cambridge Social Innovation prize for pandemic response through the Covid-19 lockdown.
Patrick joins a strong leadership team, including Jennifer Neff and Leeann Monk, co-founders. Under their leadership, the company has grown to help thousands of health and social care professionals, social prescribing link workers, and community providers across the UK and Ireland to support and connect over 62,000 people into their community. This is helping address the social determinants of health and as a result reduce social isolation and loneliness, mental health, and obesity levels.
“We are delighted to be working with Patrick. He will help us implement our strategy for growth in the UK, Ireland, and internationally. Throughout Patrick’s career, he has enabled organisations to drive the adoption of technologies to help them, their partners, and beneficiaries of services to better measure the effectiveness of what they do. Patrick understands the importance of nurturing an organisational culture that supports and encourages people to be passionate, authentic, and effective, which is a key part of what Elemental is about.” Jennifer Neff, Co-Founder, Elemental
“The Elemental platform is continuously driven and developed by our in-house innovation and development team. We have an exciting roadmap of R&D for the year ahead and Patrick will be a key part of helping us drive this forward.” Leeann Monk, Co-Founder, Elemental
Patrick McAliskey, Non-Executive Chairperson of Elemental Software, said: “Elemental is a very exciting business in terms of its growth prospects as well as its potential to do good in society. I have been incredibly impressed by the leadership team and their energy and I am very much looking forward to putting my experience to good use in helping the company to accelerate its development and growth.”
