Health tech innovation company, Elemental win contract with Greater London Authority to help shape learning and sharing around social prescribing
The Social Prescribing and Self Care Wiki (the SP WIKI), hosted by Healthy London Partnership (HLP) and run by Agile Ventures Charity was established 2 years ago as part of the London Mayor’s Sadiq Khan’s commitment in his Health Inequalities Strategy (HIS) to support more Londoners in vulnerable or deprived communities to benefit from social prescribing.
The Social Prescribing WIKI, is an open resource “Wikipedia” type public facing website, was put out for tender by the GLA(Greater London Authority) in November in a bid to find an organisation who could develop it further.
We’re delighted to announce that Elemental was recently awarded the contract and will begin engaging with stakeholders to ascertain what they want from the Social Prescribing Wiki.
a partnership approach across health, social care and voluntary sectors
“Enabling more Londoners to access social prescribing is a key ambition within Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London’s Health Inequalities Strategy. The Mayor of London wants to ensure that every Londoner has access to a social prescription by 2028 and believes a partnership approach across health, social care and voluntary sectors can grow social prescribing across London.
Elemental continues to be a key stakeholder in this process, having previously been commissioned to research and present two reports, focusing on two areas of effective social prescription delivery: the role of the Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise sector and the role that digital has in mainstreaming social prescribing, to now being contracted through a tender process to deliver a review of the Social Prescribing Wiki.” Nathan Winch, Senior Policy and Project Officer, Health Team, Greater London Authority
Working on a shared vision
“We are delighted to once again be working with Greater London Authority to help shape London Mayor, Sadiq Khan’s vision for social prescribing in London. We fully share his vision and commitment to a healthier London and we’re dedicated to ensuring the Social Prescribing Wiki is enhanced and becomes an invaluable and informative resource for all stakeholders involved in social prescribing and community care, particularly the VSCE sector and service providers in London. We’re excited to hear everyone’s feedback from the stakeholder engagement associated with this piece of work and we can’t wait to help shape the development of a new and improved wiki.”, Jennifer Neff CO-Founder and Co CEO, Elemental Software
