Elemental win DigiLeaders 100 Healthtech Innovation AND the overall 2020 award.
Derry based Tech for Good company, Elemental, has won the prestigious DigiLeaders 100 Healthtech Innovation award AND the overall 2020 award.
Commenting on the awards, Elemental CEO and Co-founder Jennifer Neff said: “In just two years, we have grown from a small start-up by two former community development workers into an essential part of the rapidly expanding social prescribing world. It is a tribute to our amazing team to have this recognition from Digileaders100. Social Prescribing gives valuable help to so many even in the best of times. The dramatic increase in the number of Social Prescriptions being made since March has underlined its vital role in helping thousands of people cope with the added impact of the pandemic.”
Elemental, is a tech for good company with the purpose of empowering and enabling individuals, families and their carers to better connect into community-based programmes, services and interventions that make a positive impact on their lives. They are a team of passionate community impact professionals who genuinely care about community health and well-being and reducing health inequalities.
The company was established by former Community Development workers, Leeann Monk Ozgul and Jennifer Neff to scale and measure the uptake and impact of the social prescribing movement.
Through their innovative digital platform, they provide organisations all over the UK and Ireland with the technical connectivity they need for multi-sector partnership working, leadership, and the measurement of mobilisation of support where needed.
By better connecting people into their communities, the Elemental platform demonstrates the impact that multi-sector partnership working and community and voluntary services have on wellness, community cohesion and demand on health and social care services.
Social Prescribing, The Covid Effect
As the Global Pandemic continues to impact on the health, wellbeing, lives and livelihoods of families around the world, the consequences here in the British Isles are stark. We are all familiar with the clinical health interventions which doctors can prescribe, but a growing number now also make “social prescriptions” which can have a dramatic and lasting benefit to the physical and mental wellbeing of their patients.
Social prescribing involves making available a wide range of non-medical help and support in local communities such as walking groups, debt advice, healthy cooking courses, social welfare advice and much more.
New data from Elemental, the leading provider of digital support to health care and social housing teams to enable them to connect and care for their communities has revealed the hidden harm that Covid is causing – but just how much social prescribing is needed and helping.
“The Covid Effect on people and on families is real, and we are proud to be playing our part in connecting those who need help with those who can provide a helping hand, a compassionate ear, or wise words of advice. “Social Prescribing is community action at its best – local professionals being there when they are needed, and wherever they are needed. Elemental’s Digi platform brings them together.” Leeann Monk-Ozgul , Co-founder and Co-CEO, Elemental
