North West based company, Elemental Software, will pitch this week as a finalist in not only one, but two innovation competitions.
Having been selected from over 100 applicants, Leeann Monk and Jennifer Neff are the only Derry based company pitching alongside 11 other start ups in INVENT 2016, a competition to find inventions with the greatest commercial potential from Northern Ireland.
In addition to this, the company will represent Northern Ireland in the running for €50,000 in development funding as they pitch before a jury in Dublin for the European Institute of Innovation and Technology Headstart/Proof-of-Concept Awards.
Co-Founder Leeann Monk said, ‘The timing couldn’t be better. We are just emerging from 16 months of intensive R&D and are about to secure our first customer and launch at the NHS Health and Care Innovation Expo in Manchester this week’.
Elemental’s Social Prescription Software is designed to better deliver and measure the social prescribing model of care. With Elemental, Health Professionals and Link Workers can generate and, most importantly, track referrals for citizens, connecting them with quality assured providers across the domains of exercise, diet/nutrition, mental health and social support.
Elemental are competing to win a share of the £33,000 INVENT prize fund, access to a global network and a place on the NI Tech Mission to California.
Securing EIT Health funding will accelerate market entry for Elemental and create new economic activity by providing “one-off” funding for emerging companies and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to develop new products and services for areas of interest to EIT Health and its members.
