Elemental give parents paid time off to home-school their children

Press release: Social Prescribing Software company, Elemental, give parents paid time off to home-school their children

On January 5th, it was announced that all schools across the UK would close immediately until after Mid-Term break as part of new government guidelines and efforts to curb the spread of the new strain of Coronavirus.

Derry-based software company, Elemental, has recognised the pressure that school closures can put on their team, due to all staff now all working remotely, and at times unable to home-school their children during working hours. The tech company is giving all parents the option to take paid time off each day to home-school.

C0-Founders Jennifer Neff and Leeann Monk Ozgul.

The company is run by former Community Development workers, Leeann Monk Ozgul and Jennifer Neff to scale and measure the uptake and impact of the social prescribing movement.

“Leeann and I are both mothers and know first hand the strain that working from home and parenting can put on you. We also know the importance of ensuring our children have a routine and continue learning, something that’s not always easy when both parents are still working and schools are closed. Our team is the backbone of Elemental who give us their all every day, so we want to protect them and their mental health during these extremely tough times and support them in any way we can.” Jennifer Neff, CEO and Co-founder, Elemental.
