Elemental Co-Founder/CEO Leeann Monk Ozgul named as one of the Most Influential Women in Tech for an impressive fourth year running

Leeann Monk-Ozgul, Co founder and Co-CEO of Elemental, has retained her place as one of the Most Influential Women in Tech on Computer Weekly’s long list, for an impressive four consecutive years.

In 2017, 2018 and 2019, Leeann was listed with over 300 women who had worked to increase the amount of diversity in the technology industry and had contributed to the sector.

Each year, the number of nominations grows as the industry tells Computer Weekly who it thinks should be considered for the prestigious Top 50 list.

As part of its commitment to shining a light on the female technology role models throughout the UK, Computer Weekly started publishing the longlist in 2017 when the number of nominations exceeded 160.

This number has grown year-on-year from 360 in 2019 to more than 430 women this year, each of which has made a significant contribution to the technology sector.

Leeann said “With our background in community development, Jennifer Neff and I have always been passionate about empowering individuals to improve their health and wellbeing and we recognised that technology had a vital role to play. We set out to mainstream social prescribing and make huge impacts to the lives of thousands of people around the UK and Ireland. It’s not just tech for the sake of tech, it’s tech for good, designed with a people first approach. To see the impact our customers have made during Covid19 using Elemental has hugely emphasised the need for digital and remote health solutions, and I’m extremely proud to say that Elemental has helped to contribute to improving wellbeing for those most in need during the pandemic. We’ve had our biggest year of growth since being shortlisted by Computer Weekly for the third year in 2019 and this announcement helps to further build on that momentum and wave the flag for women in tech.”

The winner will be announced at Computer Weekly’s annual diversity in tech event, run in partnership with Spinks, which this year will be held online on 1 October 2020 during National Inclusion Week.
