In addition to the supply of the platform itself, Elemental offer a suite of services that include Link Worker training, integration with clinical systems to enable referral making, managing and reporting, and also the ability for people to self refer themselves to social prescribing Link Workers.
Elemental wanted to provide digital social prescribing training and user training at a hyper-local level and also wanted to form a strategic partnership with a local VCSE organisation to support the roll-out of the platform. That’s why The Bureau has been recently appointed by Elemental to manage the training element of the contract.
Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership will strengthen the footprint around which integrated community based teams will develop in a bid to tackle and treat the wider health needs of their local communities.
The Bureau is a nationally accredited volunteer centre who are committed to developing solutions that can be delivered through effective voluntary action and partnership working.
The Bureau, founded as Glossop Volunteer Bureau almost 40 years ago in 1979 to establish much needed services for local people across Glossop dale that could be developed and run by volunteers, has grown in recent years to cover a whole range of new support projects, sessions and services.
The Bureau manages the delivery of social prescribing services in Glossop on behalf of Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care Trust and Glossopdale PCN.
‘As former Community Development workers, Jennifer and I value the importance of the role of the Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise sector in empowering community health and wellbeing. We are inspired by the work of The Bureau and whilst they are clients of Elemental’s, they have been more like partners. They are a digitally mature organisation that has embraced technology to help power the design, delivery and measurement of connecting communities’.
Leeann Monk-Özgül, Co Founder/CEO Elemental
“We wanted to ensure the quick and effective implementation and adoption of the Elemental platform across GM. This involved seamlessly connecting over 250 GPs practices to over a hundred of Link Workers in GM and to hundreds of community based programmes and services. Who best to lead on this implementation than an organisation who uses the system themselves on a daily basis and who understands what it takes to introduce new technology to organisations. We’re so happy that we can take our partnership with The Bureau to the next level, building the capacity of both organisations and keeping true to our community development principles.”
Jennifer Neff, Co Founder/CEO Elemental
I am passionate about all things social prescribing; being at the forefront of designing, developing and now scaling social prescribing for the past 3 years. I want to see social prescribing really grow and thrive nationally as I believe it has the power to improve the lives of people and the communities around them as well as the health and social care systems that support them.
Sophie Glinka,Chief Officer at The Bureau said “Elemental is our social prescribing platform and we have been using it for a couple of years now. It has really enhanced our service offer including wider spread, increased referral rates, better case recording and supervision tools. It is helping us to evidence our work and the value of the voluntary and community sector and I’m really pleased that this support will be available to schemes across Greater Manchester.”
“I have a strong devotion to the success of social prescribing and see Elemental as key partners in the future of this wonderful initiative, therefore I am really excited that the Bureau will be partnering with them to grow and enhance social prescribing in Greater Manchester.
