NHS Digital (on behalf of the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care) has selected nearly 70 IT companies to supply systems under its new GP IT Futures framework following the May 2019 publication of a £500m tender underpinning the new vision for GP systems, aimed at simplifying IT provision for surgeries and creating a competitive systems marketplace for primary care.
Elemental are included as a new addition in the framework alongside 16 existing suppliers, three new entrants offering core clinical systems and 52 new entrants offering a range of additional system capabilities to the UK primary care market.
This is the first framework to be awarded as part of the Digital Buying Catalogue, which will act as a digital marketplace allowing buyers to search for and compare supplier solutions that will meet their needs.
Elemental help organisations all around the UK and Ireland to enhance the impact of their social prescribing programmes via their award-winning portfolio of digital social prescribing products and consultancy services. As the leading digital social prescribing software provider in the UK.
Elemental are bridging the gap between health, housing and the community with a range of digital solutions designed to support the strategy and practice of self care and independence. All of which can be procured through the new GP IT Futures framework from 1 January 2020.
Sarah Wilkinson, NHS Digital’s Chief Executive, said: “GPs and their patients deserve the most effective and efficient modern technology with which to run their practices and access their data respectively, and the health and care system at large needs easier access to the critical data held within the primary care system to enable better secondary care and a richer flow of data into medical research.
“We are delighted that the supplier community has responded so positively to our proposal for the next generation of these systems, and are going to provide such a rich set of technical solutions for primary care. We look forward to working closely with all of them over the coming years, and I thank them all for the work they have done to ensure their solutions meet our new standards and for their work in delivering them into the primary care system.”
“We are so proud to have been awarded a place on the new NHS GP IT Futures framework as this establishes Elemental as a trusted, compliant and quality assured health-tech solutions supplier. Over the last few years we’ve spoken to many GPs and commissioners who have struggled with the current state of systems at GP practices and who have been limited in procurement choice and availability across social prescribing and personalised care, so for us, this is a huge step towards better choice for professionals, and better outcomes for patients” Leeann Monk Ozgul, Elemental Co-Founder and Co CEO
Elemental’s successful solution is expected to become available from 1 January 2020, and new offerings being launched throughout next year.
